‘Venus’ is a a chair by Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka. Whats so fascinating about it is – besides the way it looks – the production process: It takes shape by making tiny crystals grow in an aquarium. It is a natural crystal chair, which is “formed using the laws of nature and embodies a beauty born of coincidence”. The material used is called polyester elastomer, which is translucent and sort of spongy. Purely amazing.
